Chris-Norman is typical of a new generation of German hotel developers with a global outlook and close international ties.
Born in 1986, he literally grew up in the hospitality business since his parents became owners of a boutique hotel on Germany’s Baltic coast in 1994. Having gained practical skills at the Kempinski Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, in the Dorint Royal Golf Resort & Spa, Mallorca, and with PKF Hotelexperts Munich, Chris studied at the International University of Applied Sciences (IUBH) in the picturesque town of Bad Honnef/Bonn on the river Rhine from 2007-2011, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. The year 2010 saw him at the University of Brighton, Sussex, honing his knowledge of Hospitality Management. GBI AG detected his potential from the very start in 2012, appointing him Head of Hotel Development last year. In 2017, GBI AG has been confirmed to be the largest active hotel and serviced apartment developer in Germany, and Chris-Norman Sauer is determined to keep it that way.
