Tom Walsh, along with his brother Ger, founded Dublin-based Staycity Aparthotels in 2004. Starting with justone apartment in Dublin, strong bookings for short let stays prompted the pair to add further properties to the portfolio turning Staycity into one of the fastest-growing aparthotel operators in Europe.
Staycity Aparthotels now has over 3,000 apartments (operating and pipeline) with properties in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Lyon, Manchester, Marseille, Paris and York and is on target to achieve its stated aim of 15,000 apartments by 2022.
Tom Walsh was previously an engineer, working as plant manager of Henkel Loctite Ireland, a high-tech chemical and biomedical manufacturer. He holds a primary degree in engineering (Dublin) and a first class honours business degree from UCD.
