Staycity Aparthotels

Staycity Aparthotels was founded in 2004 by Tom Walsh and his brother Ger, starting with a single apartment in Dublin’s Temple Bar, a former recording studio used by the likes of U2.

Since then its on-going expansion programme has seen the company become one of Europe’s largest aparthotel operators, with a current estate (pipeline and operating) totalling over 4,500 apartments. Staycity is on target to achieve its stated aim of 15,000 apartments by 2022.
Staycity’s aparthotels, which are popular with the leisure market – in particular families and small groups of travellers on city breaks – as well as business travellers, are made up of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, a dining area, sitting area with flat screen TV and bathroom. Additional features include 24-hour reception, complimentary Wi-Fi access and guest laundry facilities as well as weekly housekeeping. Most sites have private car parking facilities and many offer a dry gym.
The company’s most recent openings, such as London Heathrow, York, Birmingham Newhall Square and Marseille, have a guest lounge and café for breakfast, all day snacks and beverages.
Staycity currently has properties in Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London, York, Paris, Marseille and Lyon. This year will see further openings in Liverpool and the launch of its first premium, design-led , Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity, opening on London’s Strand.
In 2019/20 Staycity will open further sites in Dublin and Manchester along with properties in Berlin and Venice as well as near Disneyland Paris.
The company remains privately held, and is based in Dublin.
