Contemporary aparthotel opens in Florence

M7 Contemporary Apartments, an 11-unit aparthotel has opened in Florence.

Italian studio Pierattelli Architetture designed the project, which is located near Fortezza da Basso, "far from mass tourism but just a short distance from the city centre".

The space - of more than 1,000 square metres - comprises 11 apartments set inside a neoclassical building, whose interior was completely reinterpreted, "creating a spatial subdivision aimed at maximum functionality and the exploitation of all usable space".

The 11 apartments, divided between one-, two- and three-bedroom units - are all equipped with a kitchen and living area. Rooms have a clean, linear design featuring light tones; warm woods, such as canaletto walnut; and "sharp, resolute touches of colour such as emerald green and electric blue".

"I’ve really enjoyed the conference. It’s my first time here so it’s great to meet other serviced apartment companies, to discuss future opportunities and what we can do together to make the sector more well known"
