Work, rest and play - the rise of mixed-use co-work and co-living development.

Modern travellers are not looking for demarcated areas to work, sleep, eat and socialise – they want it all in one building.

What role do serviced apartments and extended stay play in mixed-use development? A focus on the mixed use 'stack' and diversification of yield, and the various roles of operators, owners, property managers and multi-family units.

Which brands are addressing this need in the most exciting and innovative ways?

The use of personal data presents an enormous opportunity for the hospitality and extended stay industry to truly engage with guests, provide meaningful experiences, and encourage and enhance repeat stays.  The increasing availability of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) systems can predict guest behaviour and needs, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.  However, the same guest data that enables those practices is also an enticing target for cyber criminals and cyber attacks because of the types of data held and the guest-and business-friendly security employed. This session focuses on how AI and ML are changing the world of hospitality, the financial and regulatory risks that can arise from the mishandling of guest data and from cyberbreaches, as well as some best practices, crisis management considerations, and key steps to prepare for and respond to data breaches or cyber extortion.
